OCD Awareness Week 2012: Free Community Talks

Free Community Talks: Wednesday, October 10, 2012 | 7 to 8:30 p.m.

Rogers Memorial Hospital is a national leader in the treatment of OCD and other anxiety disorders in children, teens and adults. As part of 2012 OCD Awareness Week, Rogers is sponsoring a free community talk on OCD at the following locations. These speakers will share their knowledge about OCD, and how early diagnosis and treatment are key to successful recovery. No pre-registration is required to attend.

Medical Director of the Child Center
She is a full-time, board-certified child and adolescent psychiatrist, adult psychiatrist and pediatrician. Prior to joining Rogers, Dr. Eken worked in multidisciplinary outpatient practice focused on child development and mental health. Her clinical interests include anxiety, obsessive-compulsive disorder, obsessive-compulsive spectrum disorders, depression, attention deficit hyperactivity disorder (ADHD), and emotional problems in chronically medically ill children.

David M. Jacobi, PhD

Clinical Supervisor and Behavior Specialist at the Child & Adolescent Centers
Dr. Jacobi has an extensive practice background in the treatment of anxiety disorders in the United States and Canada and has conducted research related to obsessive-compulsive disorder (OCD) as it relates to children and their families. Dr. Jacobi completed his doctorate under the direction of John Calamari, PhD, at The Chicago Medical School and completed his internship and post doctoral fellowship at the University of British Columbia.

Clinical Director of OCD Center and Cognitive-Behavioral Therapy Services
Bradley C. Riemann, PhD, is a leading expert in the assessment of anxiety disorders and use of cognitive-behavioral therapy (CBT) treatment. He supervises the training of graduate and post-graduate students from around the country for CBT in anxiety disorders and collaborates with colleges and universities on research projects investigating obsessive-compulsive disorder (OCD) and other anxiety disorders.

Rachel Leonard, PhD

Clinical Supervisor and Behavior Specialist at Rogers' Madison site.
A graduate of the University of Wisconsin Milwaukee, Dr. Leonard received her bachelor’s degree in Psychology and her master’s in Clinical Psychology. She received her doctorate in Clinical Psychology from the University of Wisconsin Milwaukee and performed her internship in the Department of Psychiatry at the Indiana University School of Medicine. She has co-authored many peer-reviewed articles and presentations and has helped to teach psychology courses at the University of Wisconsin Milwaukee.

 


About OCD Awareness Week

OCD Awareness Week is an annual public education campaign. The week is coordinated by the International OCD Foundation as a vehicle for support, advocacy and education to help end the stigma surrounding OCD and to encourage people who have OCD to find treatment.
