Education is an important part of our mission as a leader in the field of mental health. Rogers Memorial delivered an excellent program to our child.

Day Treatment Program

The child and adolescent day treatment program of Rogers Memorial Hospital offers half-day structured treatment for children and adolescents. This program provides intensive treatment, while allowing continued involvement in every-day activities with family and school. Treatment is individualized for each child’s needs and age group.

The child and adolescent day treatment program treats issues such as:

  • Severe mood swings
  • School problems
  • Defiance issues
  • Frequent rage, outbursts or threats
  • Isolation or withdrawal
  • Alcohol and drug problems
  • Attention deficit hyperactivity disorder (ADHD)
  • Depression
  • Anxiety

We offer day treatment for children at three Wisconsin locations: Milwaukee, Kenosha, and Brown Deer. The Child & Adolescent Day Treatment Services of Rogers Memorial Hospital–Kenosha is offered in cooperation with Children’s Hospital of Wisconsin-Kenosha to provide a full continuum of mental health services for children in the Kenosha community.

NEW! Rogers Memorial Hospital is proud to announce the opening of four specialty groups for children and adolescents. Each group uses evidence-based treatment components and is led by experienced mental health care professionals specifically trained in the group's area of concern.

Treatment Program
Patients meet individually with staff members to form an individualized treatment plan. Treatment components may consist of several types of therapy, including:

  • Group therapy
  • Family therapy
  • Experiential and expressive therapies, such as recreation, art, music, and drama therapy
  • Individual play therapy
  • Cognitive behavioral
  • Medication management
  • Psychiatric consultation
  • Skills development group
  • School coordination
  • Case management
  • Psycho-education group therapy

Sample Schedule
Half-day sessions are held Monday through Friday from 8 – 11:30 a.m. or 12:30 – 4 p.m.

The schedule also includes a weekly individual therapy session and family therapy session.

The child and adolescent also will meet regularly with a psychiatrist.

Treatment Team
Medical Director of the Child & Adolescent Services in Milwaukee, Kambiz Pahlavan, M.D. is a board-certified child and adolescent psychiatrist with over 25 years of experience. The Program Director, Jody Pahlavan, Psy.D. is a clinical psychologist with experience working with children and adolescents, including autism spectrum disorder.

Members of the treatment team may include:

  • Board-certified psychiatrists
  • Licensed clinical psychologists
  • Registered psychiatric nurses
  • Social workers/counselors
  • Experiential therapists
  • School liaison
  • Mental health technicians
  • Other mental health professionals

Communication and Aftercare
Communication among parents, community caregivers and our staff is an important component of the program. Consultation regarding patient progress and coordination of services occur regularly. The school liaison also is available to attend school meetings to provide support in the development of effective education progress.

Those receiving outpatient care are encouraged to continue treatment while in the day treatment program. Communication regarding progress occurs between the treatment team and therapist from admission to discharge.

Transportation
Transportation services may be provided through insurance companies or Wisconsin Medicaid.

Admissions
An initial phone screening is completed to determine appropriate level of care. Upon admission, each patient meets individually with members of our treatment team for a comprehensive evaluation to develop a personalized plan of care.
