Fanisha Porter-Bempong, MD

Psychiatrist

Fanisha Porter-Bempong, MD, is a board-certified attending psychiatrist at Rogers Behavioral Health in Atlanta, where she works with children, adolescents, and adults in the intensive outpatient and partial hospitalization levels of care.

Dr. Porter-Bempong graduated from the University of South Florida, Tampa, with a Bachelor of Science in biomedical sciences. She received her medical degree from the Trinity School of Medicine, St. Vincent and the Grenadines. Dr. Porter-Bempong completed her general psychiatry residency at University of South Alabama, then completed her child and adolescent psychiatry fellowship and forensic psychiatry fellowship at the Medical College of Wisconsin.

Prior to joining Rogers, Dr. Porter-Bempong was an associate professor and site director at Mercer University in Macon, Georgia, where her responsibilities included supervising and teaching resident physicians and medical students in the outpatient psychiatry clinic, in addition to managing crises and complex issues, facilitating collaboration with community clinicians, and mentoring residents. Dr. Porter has also supervised and taught resident physicians in an inpatient setting. She has trained in multiple psychotherapeutic modalities such as acceptance commitment therapy, cognitive behavioral therapy, dialectical behavior therapy, and family therapy.

She is a member of the American Academy of Child and Adolescent Psychiatry and the American Academy of Psychiatry and Law.
