Families as Partners

Parents looking for solutions to address complicated behaviors discover that the Child Center provides the best options for their child.

You know your child best. We create a partnership with you to find the best options for your child. Through family education and therapy sessions we provide clear goals and coordinated efforts to help you and your child work through common challenges and build stronger relationships.

Family education is a vital part of your child’s treatment. Active involvement of family members helps ensure a successful transition back home. During your child’s stay, you will have opportunities to practice techniques and receive feedback from staff members to create a sense of consistency for your child when he or she transitions out of the program.

Family therapy is used to help your family function together more effectively, to work out problems, to build skills in communication, cooperation and mutual understanding of each member’s strengths and challenges. Family therapy includes a number of different activities including weekly family updates, family therapy sessions (either over the phone or in person), ongoing communication about treatment progress, and preparing for your child’s discharge from the center.

The bottom line is that we understand the many ways you support your child and work with you to build a foundation for their future. We value your knowledge and respect the importance of your role.
