Information
The Anxiety disorders Program of Rogers
Memorial Hospital provides intensive Partial
Hospitalization treatment for children, adolescents and adults
with moderate to severe Anxiety disorders. Following a detailed
assessment, individuals are seen Monday through Thursday, from
3 p.m. to 6 p.m., for a total of 12 sessions in three consecutive
weeks. In most cases, the goal of this program is to reduce Anxiety disorders symptoms to a manageable level. Research suggests that
the majority of people with an Anxiety disorders find our treatment
approach effective. The cost of this program is covered by most
insurance companies.
Anxiety disorders that can be effectively
treated include:
- Panic disorder
- Generalized Anxiety disorders
- Social Anxiety disorders
- Post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD)
- Agoraphobia
- Child and adolescent separation anxiety
or school refusal
- Anxiety related to medical complications
Treatment Program
Patients participate in individual and group sessions. A strict
cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT) approach is used. CBT is a
teaching model that trains individuals in skills that research
has found to be effective in managing these disorders. In some
cases, medication also is recommended.

The Anxiety Program is a component of the Obsessive-Compulsive
Disorder Center, under the direction of Bradley
C. Riemann, Ph.D., Clinical Director.

- Registered nurse
- Social worker

Criteria
The Anxiety disorders program can effectively treat
male and female children, adolescents and adults meeting the following
criteria:
- Primary diagnosis of an Anxiety disorders
- Individuals may have dual or multiple
diagnoses
- All admissions will be based on
a comprehensive assessment conducted by a trained professional

Assessment
Prospective patients meet with a psychologist specializing in
the cognitive behavioral assessment and treatment of Anxiety disorders.
This evaluation determines the appropriateness of the program
for each individual. History and severity of the Anxiety disorders
are evaluated as well as related psychosocial factors. On admission,
each patient will meet individually with members of the multidisciplinary
treatment team to develop a plan of care specific to the patient’s
needs.
