Dr. Michael M. MillerDr. Miller has practiced Addiction Medicine for almost 30 years and is certified in Addiction Medicine by the American Board of Addiction Medicine. He is also a board-certified general psychiatrist and addiction psychiatrist. He is Fellow of the American Psychiatric Association (APA) and the American Society of Addiction Medicine (ASAM).

Dr. Miller is also a Director of the American Board of Addiction Medicine. He recently completed a two-year term as the president of ASAM, the largest medical specialty society in America of physicians devoted to addiction prevention, treatment, medical education, research, and public policy. He has served on many task forces and councils of ASAM and the Wisconsin Medical Society (WMS), was chair of the WMS Commission on Addictive Diseases, and is current Vice Speaker of the WMS House of Delegates. For over 10 years he served with Dr. Roland Herrington on the Managing Committee of the Statewide Physician Health Program of the WMS.

Prior to joining Rogers Memorial, Dr. Miller was the Associate Director for the Addiction Psychiatry Fellowship at the University of Wisconsin School of Medicine and Public Health and Wm. S. Middleton Veterans Administration Hospital. He continues to serve as Associate Clinical Professor at the UW School of Medicine and Public Health in the Departments of Psychiatry, Family Medicine, and Internal Medicine. His previous professional positions include the Midelfort Clinic and Luther Hospital in Eau Claire, WI, and over 20 years at Meriter Hospital in Madison, WI in its NewStart Program.

Dr. Miller has lectured throughout the United States and internationally on addiction medicine, general psychiatry, and addiction psychiatry topics, as well as on topics related to medical economics, medical quality, medical ethics, and public health.
