Annual Update in Primary Care Focuses on Interaction Between Behavioral Therapists and Primary Care Physicians

During the recent 25th Annual Update in Primary Care, held in Egg Harbor, WI, about 130 attendees heard the message that it’s important for behavioral health providers to reach out to primary care physicians since they are often managing a patient’s overall health.That’s in line with normal procedure at Rogers Memorial Hospital, where behavioral therapists perform a comprehensive assessment of patients, including consultation with primary care providers, in order to provide the best continuity of care possible. The Annual Update is designed for primary care physicians, nurse practitioners and physician assistants, with the objective of providing the latest information on current issues concerning primary care as well as clinically relevant information to enhance diagnostic and therapeutic skills in the primary care setting.
