Dr. Miller Addresses Social Drinking Among Physicians in AMA Article

The American Medical Association (AMA) recently published an article by Michael M. Miller, MD, FASAM, FAPA, Medical Director of the Herrington Recovery Center at Rogers Memorial Hospital. “Warning signs of physician alcohol impairment” addresses social drinking and when it can become a problem for physicians. Also the director of the American Board of Addiction Medicine, Dr. Miller says that personal reflection is indicated whenever “the use of alcohol or another drug is taking on a position of centrality.” The article was posted on the AMA’s Ethical Forum, which offers answers to ethical issues in medical practice.
