Rogers Memorial Hospital recently exhibited at the 2012 National Conference on Lawyer Assistance Programs in Grand Rapids, Michigan. Created by the American Bar Association (ABA), the Commission on Lawyer Assistance Programs (CoLAP) helps to educate the legal profession concerning alcoholism, chemical dependencies, stress, depression and other emotional health issues. In addition, CoLAP offers assistance to develop and maintain methods of providing effective solutions for recovery. The Conference featured a variety of mental health topics, with about 125 people attending from the United States and Canada. Due to the high incidence of alcoholism and addiction in this profession, Rogers offered information on chemical dependency services and the Herrington Recovery Center.
