Sue McKenzie, co-director of Rogers InHealth appeared on “The Morning Blend” to raise awareness for both mental health recovery and a new statewide collaboration Wisconsin Eliminates Stigma (WISE). Focused on seeking to reduce the stigma of mental illness, both organizations are driven by research pointing to the power of the recovery stories of those with lived experience.
“The best way to deal with the stigma or negative ideas or shameful feelings people have is to get to know people with mental illness.” stated McKenzie. "Hearing stories about others, from diagnosis to recovery, helps people feel more relaxed and most of all see hope."
