Throughout her schooling and professional career in social work, Robyn Welk-Richards’ passion and commitment has focused on the research and treatment of people with eating disorders.
Robyn worked as the primary therapist of the adolescent female program at Rogers’ Eating Disorder Center from 2005 to 2009. Her professional career expanded to outpatient private practice work, focusing on teenagers and young adults with at-risk behaviors, specifically disordered eating, self-injury and substance abuse. During which time she completed the highest level of intensive training in Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT).
“While using evidence-based treatments like DBT and Cognitive-Behavioral Therapy is a cornerstone of my treatment philosophy, I also enjoy the eclectic and creative ways our team integrates a wide range of therapies to best meet the needs of our patients.”
Robyn returned to Rogers in February 2012 as the Clinical Services Manager of the Eating Disorder Center and feels as if she has “come home.” She is thrilled to be back at Rogers working once again with two of the top psychiatrists in the field.
Robyn has completed her doctorate work in Clinical Social Work at Loyola University-Chicago. “As manager, this position allows me to share my training and experience with the current clinical team at the center. I feel very fortunate to be back at Rogers.”
