Rogers Supports National Eating Disorders Awareness Week

“Everybody Knows Somebody”, this year’s NEDAwareness week theme is all about awareness of eating disorders, and the word is spreading.

Rogers is proud to support this campaign against eating disorders, and is proud to be well known and respected in this community as a high quality eating disorder treatment provider. This year three of Rogers’ professionals will share their knowledge about eating disorders and the message that early diagnosis and treatment are key to successful recovery:

• On February 12, Theodore E. Weltzin, MD, medical director of eating disorder services will be speaking at the TEMPO Madison luncheon on the topic of exercise addiction and eating disorders.
• On February 20, Tracey L. Cornella-Carlson, MD, medical director of child and adolescent eating disorder services, will be one of the featured guests of the Milwaukee TV program “The Morning Blend.”
• On February 23, Dr. Cornella-Carlson’s interview from Carol Koby’s “All About Living” program will air on Madison’s WHIT radio station.
• On February 26, Robyn Welk-Richards, PhD, LCSW, clinical services manager of the Eating Disorder Center, will be giving a talk for students and faculty at Carroll University in Waukesha.

Rogers is a sponsor of the National Eating Disorders Screening Program for colleges and universities, which helps screen students for eating disorders and increase awareness on campus. In addition, Edgewood College and the Rogers Madison locations are hosting an in-person screening event on their campus during the week of NEDSP. Contact Heather Lavin for questions.
