Residential Treatment

Residential Treatment:

Rogers is a comprehensive psychiatric hospital, nationally recognized for specialty residential treatment programs for eating disorders, addiction, obsessive-compulsive disorder and anxiety disorders for children, teens and adults.

Treatment Approach for Chemical Dependency

People struggling with addiction often find it extremely challenging to establish and maintain abstinence without help. Some people find long-term, sustained recovery using 12-Step programs alone, but others may need professional help (and some need more than one course of treatment) to achieve lasting success.

At Rogers, we use components of 12-Step programming to provide the framework to educate patients about addictive illness and begin the recovery process.

Establish Abstinence and Engage in Recovery:
The first step toward sobriety is recognizing the power of addiction and the “unmanageability” it leads to.

Build on Abstinence and Focus on Growth:
Abstinence is only the beginning of complete recovery. Recovery also requires learning how to replace self-destructive patterns with healthier thoughts and behaviors. Through individual and group sessions, patients learn to identify strengths and enhance coping skills. We encourage patients to practice principles of recovery that will foster social, mental, emotional, physical and spiritual growth.

Involve and Educate Patients and Families:
We educate patients and families on the nature of addiction, the recovery process, relapse prevention, craving and support resources. All patients are encouraged to have their families attend family-focused treatment sessions. Family members are provided opportunities to learn about the addiction process and how to support someone in recovery.

Comprehensive Approach:
Many people with addiction have co-occurring psychiatric conditions which require attention. For some, without effective treatment of co-occurring psychiatric symptoms, relapse is almost inevitable. The ready availability of psychiatric consultation and concurrent treatment of chemical dependency and mental health disorders by board-certified psychiatrists distinguishes Rogers from other well known chemical dependency treatment centers.

Prevent Relapse:
As patients continue their recovery, they will encounter obstacles that can trigger relapse. We help patients learn to identify relapse warning signs and establish effective coping strategies.
