Cognitive-Behavioral Therapy, also known as CBT, has emerged as one of the most effective treatments for OCD and anxiety issues, and is beneficial for treating other mental health patients as well.

CBT is effective treatment

Research supports the effectiveness of CBT in helping people make changes in their thoughts, emotions and behaviors. In fact, our outcome data shows that 80 percent of people seeking treatment through our CBT programs reported a significant improvement in their anxiety symptoms. Patients who rated their symptoms as severe were able to reduce anxiety levels to much more manageable level.

How it works

CBT programs at Rogers provide a graduated, manageable treatment approach to identify the specific situations that create anxiety, and then develop a plan consisting of small steps to work toward overcoming the anxiety, celebrating their success along the way. Using this approach, patients can gain control over their symptoms and learn effective strategies they can continue to use throughout their lives.

Exposure and ritual prevention (ERP) is widely recognized as the treatment of choice for obsessive-compulsive disorder. This gradual, repetitive therapy focuses on exposing people to feared situations in order to reduce anxiety and prevent rituals.

Cognitive restructuring is a CBT technique which helps the afflicted to identify and challenge typical “errors” in thinking that can cause higher levels of anxiety.
