Peter M. Lake, MD, is a board-certified child and adolescent psychiatrist and adult psychiatrist who practices full-time at Rogers Memorial Hospital. Dr. Lake joined the medical staff of Rogers Memorial Hospital in 1994 as medical director of child and adolescent services. He served as the medical director of Rogers’ Oconomowoc campus until April 2015, helping to build the hospital’s reputation outside of the immediate geographic region through the development of specialty residential treatment programs that are known across the United States and increasingly around the globe for their clinical effectiveness. He is the founder of the Child & Adolescent Centers and continues to serve as the medical director of the Adolescent Center.

Prior to joining Rogers, Dr. Lake was vice chairman in the Department of Psychiatry at Physicians Plus Medical Group, S.C., and associate medical director for Physicians Plus Mental Health Case Management and Consultation System in Madison, Wisconsin. He was also an associate clinical professor at the University of Wisconsin Medical School and at the Medical College of Wisconsin.

Dr. Lake received his medical degree from the University of Iowa. He completed his residency in adult psychiatry and fellowship in child and adolescent psychiatry at Vanderbilt University in Nashville, Tennessee. He was the recipient of the 1989 Marc C. Hollender M.D. Award for Outstanding Performance by a Psychiatric Resident, Vanderbilt University, Department of Psychiatry; and 1982 Superior Academic Achievement Award, Creighton University in Omaha, Nebraska, where he completed his undergraduate degree.

His clinical areas of interest include early childhood development, attachment disorders, attention deficit hyperactivity disorder (ADHD), childhood depression and anxiety disorders, medication management, and individual psychotherapy and family therapy. He is a frequent lecturer and consultant to school districts, social service agencies and case management systems.
