Rogers Memorial Hospital CEO Paul Mueller addresses listeners about the treatment programs available at the hospital
Dr. Stephanie Eken, MD discusses the programs available for children and how treatment changes lives
Rogers Memorial Hospital was proud to host WKLH’s Dave & Carole and their annual workforce tour on Friday, October 12th. Live from the hospital’s brand new patient and family café, the five hour broadcast featured interviews with a former patient, our very own Dr. Stephanie Eken, MD and our newly named CEO Paul Mueller. The broadcast reinforced the fact that mental illness is just like any physical ailment, it needs to be addressed, treated and given time to heal.
Howie Mandel, a comedian, discussed how he copes with OCD in a recorded interview with Dave & Carole. He stated “it’s a very real thing my OCD…people are constantly saying it’s in your head or get over it. But we are starting to turn a corner on people’s awareness and the stigma is going away on mental health issues.”
This comment was reinforced by the many local stories received during the broadcast, of people wanting to share their experience with OCD, Eating Disorders, anxiety disorders and more. As Paul Mueller, Rogers' CEO indicated in his interview, “It isn’t an issue of other families, it’s an issue of our family…All of us have been touched in some way by a mental health issue.”
