According to the National Eating Disorders Association, 10 million males will suffer from an eating disorder at some point in their life. Dr. Ted Weltzin, MD, FAED, FAPA Medical Director of Rogers Eating Disorders Services, joined HuffPost Live and three male guests to discuss this epidemic and to address why it is so hard for men to come forward with this condition.

“The last 15 years have really seen a rise in males diagnosed with eating disorders.” Stated Dr. Weltzin. There is a wide range of eating disorders with the three most common being anorexia, bulimia and binge eating disorders. Many men present with one of these disorders in conjunction with excessive exercise or compulsive exercising.
