(Nashville, TN) – Rogers Behavioral Health, one of the world’s largest and most comprehensive providers of obsessive-compulsive disorder (OCD) and anxiety treatment, will be opening a new Nashville treatment facility on Monday, May 4. It will be located in the Nashville Medical Plaza East on the St. Thomas West Campus at 4230 Harding Road, Suite 707.

According to Stephanie Eken, MD, Rogers’ regional medical director for partial hospitalization and intensive outpatient programs, “OCD and anxiety are two of the most common psychiatric disorders with one in 100 adults and one in 200 children diagnosed. When left untreated, both can be extremely disabling for those affected by it.”

Rogers Behavioral Health has become recognized as a world leader in successfully treating these two disorders. Its team of physicians and psychiatrists utilize comprehensive treatment programs based in cognitive behavior therapy (CBT) emphasizing exposure and response prevention (ERP).

“These therapies are evidence-based, meaning research studies have documented and proven them to be the most effective treatment therapies for helping those with OCD and anxiety better manage their thoughts, emotions and behaviors.” adds Eken. “This treatment approach has been shown to be effective for 85 percent of adults and children with OCD and anxiety disorders.”

Initially the new Nashville facility will offer a partial hospitalization program (PHP) for adults, adolescents and children diagnosed with OCD and anxiety. It will consist of a treatment plan that is six hours a day, five days per week. However, according to Eken, within 30 days, the facility will expand to include an intensive outpatient program (IOP), for those with less severe symptoms. This program will consist of a treatment plan that is three hours a day, four days per week. Each program will be able accommodate eight patients, for a total of 32. The usual length of participation for both of these programs is four to six weeks.

“We are very excited to be expanding our specialized programs into the Nashville community, and we are looking forward to complementing the wide variety of psychiatric care already available,” said Eken.

Rogers also plans to open an adolescent eating disorders treatment program at this facility in the next several months.
