The International Conference on Eating Disorders(ICED) is going on in Montreal, Quebec, Canada. ICED is the premier gathering place for professionals and advocates engaged in research, treatment and prevention of eating disorders. Each year, ICED is put on by the Academy of Eating Disorders, a 1500 member worldwide group which exists to prevent and treat eating disorders such as anorexia, bulimia, and binge eating disorder.
This year Dr. Tracey Cornella-Carlson, MD, CEDS is participating in the event as part of one of the SIG(Special Interest Groups)’s on treatment of children and adolescents with eating disorders. In addition, Dr. Mary Fitzpatrick and Dr. Ted Weltzin have authored a poster entitled “Motivation for Change as a Predictor of Treatment Outcome Using the YBC-EDS in Residential Eating Disorder Population.”
The conference offers several networking and research oriented opportunities, continuing education for clinical professionals, panel discussions with special interest groups, and clinical workshops designed to be “how-to” workshops for treatment professionals.
